Multiple personality is defined as “the existence of two or more different personalities within an individual, each of which dominates at a certain time”.

For the psychologist Jürgen vom Scheidt, writing is a special medium for the discovery of partial personalities.

It leaves traces through the links between memories, dreams and emotionally strong experiences that would trigger psychosocial stress disorders through repression, but which can reveal themselves when written down.

The ability to split is:

“A natural process in order to be able to survive in a complex reality, in which liveable compromises are found and opportunities that cannot be lived (when choosing a career or partner) are to be eliminated, forgotten, and repressed.”

While writing, have you caught yourself:

  • suddenly finding yourself shameful about past experiences?
  • not being able to remember certain experiences?
  • Having déjà-vus?

While writing, partial personalities come to light.
